Drip Golf has announced the launch of an all-new Season Standings System for the 2025-26 season, designed to create a fairer, more exciting race for the Player of the Year. The updated system is geared towards the different age divisions.
“This new system gives every player more ways to succeed,” said the Drip Golf Chief Operating Officer and Director of Competitions, Jason Cox. “It rewards the grind of playing tournament after tournament, but also recognizes those players who consistently score well over the whole season. It’s the best of both worlds.”
How the New Standings Work
Future Stars, Middle School, and Female Elite Divisions
These divisions are points-based only.
-
Points are awarded based on finish position and field size – larger fields mean more points for everyone.
-
Winners receive a 10-point bonus.
-
Ties are averaged – players splitting positions share the points for those spots.
-
Points do not carry across divisions – if a player switches divisions, only the points earned in that division count.
High School Boys Division
Because recruiting is more competitive at the high school level, we use points and scoring differential to determine Player of the Year standings.
-
Points: Same system as other divisions (field size, finish position, bonus for wins, ties averaged).
-
Scoring Differential:
-
Measures performance relative to the course’s difficulty.
-
Uses tournament round score with the USGA course and slope ratings.
-
Rewards consistently strong play, even without a win.
-
Calculated individually (ties do not affect scoring differential).
-
Eligibility & Season Details
-
Only current Drip Golf members appear in the standings and are eligible for season-ending awards.
-
Most official Drip Golf events count toward standings, though some special events may be excluded.
-
Standings are updated within 2–3 days after each event.

Frequently Asked Questions
- What’s a scoring differential?
Your scoring differential shows how well you played compared to the course difficulty. It’s calculated using your score, the course rating, and the slope for that tournament. - How do I earn points?
Points are based on your finish position and the size of the field — bigger fields mean more points for everyone. The winner of each event also gets a 10-point bonus. - Who is eligible for the standings?
Only current Drip Golf members are eligible to appear in the season standings and compete for end-of-season awards. - Do all Drip Golf tournaments count toward the standings?
Yes, all Drip Golf Series and Tarheel Junior Golf Tour events are used. - How often are the standings updated?
Standings are updated within 2–3 days after each tournament. - Can I still rank high if I don’t win every event?
Absolutely! Even without wins, steady play and strong scoring differentials can move you up the standings. - How are ties handled?
For points, tied positions share the average points for those spots. Scoring differential is calculated individually for each player. - What happens if I play in fewer events than others?
You can still place well if you earn strong points and scoring differentials, but more events give more opportunities to score. - How do bigger fields affect points?
The larger the field, the more points are available to everyone. It’s a way to reward strong finishes in tougher, more competitive events. - Can I see both my points and scoring differential during the season?
Yes! The standings page will show both, so you can track how each one impacts your overall position. - Is there an end-of-season championship?
Yes! Top players in the standings may qualify for the Drip Golf National Championship in August of 2026. - Where can I find the standings?
Standings are posted on the Drip-Golf.com website under the “Season Standings” page and can be viewed anytime.
